Triggered Memories of MelbourneI just watched a StreetFilms.org film about the pedestrian paradise Melbourne. Now I?m missing Melbourne! When I visited it for about a week in June 2007 I walked hours through the city with another backpacker I met there. It is fun together. Melbourne is beautiful! I wonder if I could live there for a year or two.

1130of the rain can be heard vaguely as they try to deafen Anna Tsuchiya singing "I needdd youuurrr loveeeeee... like a brokeeennn roooseee~" wtf. A miserable 6 degrees outside altho it's nearly noon indicates that winter is approaching and days are just gonna get colder. Sipping carefully on a cup of steaming hot coffee in front of the laptop, I sit up straight as I realized I've been slouching and my back's beginning to ache. I look like 10 kinds of shit - messy hair, puffy eyes, c

the girl is back in townI flew into Melbourne the plane did a lovely big loop over the north of the city so I could pick out places I know and remind myself that this is my city. It's Autumn here and beautiful, cold and rainy and perfect weather for staying inside reading a good book. At the moment I'm staying at my parents and tomorrow will move into the new community. Since I have nothing bloggable to say about either of those things I thought I'd just tell you about my nieces welcome home. Abbey the youngest
THE AGE: Slug loggers tooBilby, Kensington Letter, The Age, 15 May 2008 In "Plan to make timber industry pay for rain" (The Age, 11/5) the Victorian Government is deciding whether to make the plantation timber industry pay a fee for the rain that plantations soak up. This is because plantations reduce the amount of water that would otherwise flow into streams, thereby reducing water available for rural towns and the environment. If the Government is so concerned, why does it allow the native timber industry to cl

Billy Lane Trial Delayed Again Bordering on ridiculous, Billy Lane?s manslaughter trial date still has not yet been set. Legal BS has put off a date with yet another hearing scheduled for the middle of June at which time the judge thinks they will be able to set (same as the last three hearings) a trial date. In a related matter, the woman riding in Lane?s truck when the accident happened has filed a lawsuit against both Lane and Chrysler Motors. If you can take it all the details from our lame ass (in)justice system are
Well?Maybe The Saints Are Crap After All! (Round Eight - The Great Letdown) We suck, we suck, we suck, we suck, we suck?AAAHHHHHHHH!!! Perhaps it was a touch fitting that St Kilda and Collingwood opened proceedings for The Great Letdown last night. The Pies were one kick away from a grand final last year but have not looked as impressive so far this season. The Saints have held high expectations for a number of years now but the results have not lived up to them. So one set of supporters were bound to be left heavily deflated after this game. And that award goes

Eisenmenger told the

Landlord crams 48 Nepalese students into one houseA MILLIONAIRE landlord has been stacking up to 48 Nepalese students in a single house in northern Melbourne and dozens in two other rundown properties, say council investigators. Hem Tamang, 36, lives in a modern double-storey Coburg property and runs a city restaurant - but makes big money by filling three suburban homes with dozens of students in each. One six-room house in Loch St, Coburg, had beds for 48 people when council officers raided it last week and slapped an unsafe premises notic
