Meerea Park ?Terracotta? Semillon 1999 I don?t cellar Semillon; I would much rather buy a good mature one, and in this regard I am very thankful to be able to purchase one like this. Now I say mature, but I reckon this could easily go another 10 years, if that is what you wanted. Some yellowing. Aromas of glossy lemons, golden fruits, citrus peel, herbs and a little nutty. The palate is toasty and full bodied, having a waxy texture, with lemon, peel, and old nuts. Some secondary development is evident, but the wine is still quite
Columbia SC Real Estate New Listing Forest Acres 5711 Ravenwood What a great day. It was a beautiful warm day, and it seems that the Columbia SC Real Estate Market is about to get some much needed rain. Today, a client called me up to list his beautiful house in the heart of Forest Acres. The property address is 5711 Ravenwood Drive. This house has it all, and priced to sell. The house is 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, has a large family room with a great fireplace (never been used!). The house is solid brick, on a large lot with a fenced in backyard. Like I
Columbia SC Real Estate First Time Home Buyer Interview Here is a great interview with a first time home buyer who just closed on his first home in the Columbia SC Real Estate Market. Daniel is a young guy, 23 to be exact, and just purchased his first home. I spoke with Daniel about the buying process, specifically about how he first found his house, looked at houses, and everything like that online. If you remember, I have a post a couple weeks back about how nearly all Buyers start their new home search online. This is important to remember a
Cleaning Up Your Credit Report in the Columbia SC Real Estate Market As most of you realize, mortgage brokers use your credit report to determine many of the factors that ?price? your loan. The credit report is also one of the factors that may Qualify you or Deny you on a loan. There are 3 firms that mortgage brokers will judge your credit on. They typically take your middle score. The 3 credit bureaus are EXperian, TransUnion, and Equifax. Don?t work on just one, clean up all three. The first thing to do is to run your credit. The government gives you one fr
Columbia SC Real Estate Video is HERE! I spoke yesterday of my desire to bring video to this blog. I had the oppurtunity to speak with a client of mine today as we were putting in an offer on a great house. The house is a foreclosure in the Columbia SC Real Estate Market, needs some work, but she stands to have over $70,000 in equity! This is great. Did I mention that she is a single mother of 3 boys? The American dream folks, this is what it is all about! I have her permission to post this here. There will be many more to come
Hunter Valley Wine CountryWhenever I do some development work I have this habit of using the same page for all of my testing, whether it be trying new images, page styles, or running sample quotes. Cypress Lakes Resort in the beautiful wine country of Hunter Valley seems to be the lucky page that I do all my testing on. Ever since the first time I read through the pages on Hunter Valley I?ve been wanting to take a weekend away to visit one of the many wineries, go on a vineyard tour, and of course - taste some of the f
Course Spotlight: The Vintagewas plenty to look forward to on a weekend in late November last year with a few mates meeting up in the Hunter Valley. One of the highlights was the game of golf at the Greg Norman designed Vintage Golf Course. Service in the pro shop and club house wasn't bad for the money paid (think it was about $110 but always remember to try golflink or iseekgolf for cheaper deals). One mate wasn't going to play but watch the golf on offer with a beer in one hand but the on course alcohol ban put a s
March 2008 - Return of 3642 I understand I am running a bit late with this - I?ve still got April to cover, and by then we?ll be done with May? At any rate, this is my personal recap on the events of March, 2008. March 2008 shall go down as the month that 3642 returned to steam, to fill the role left by 3801 the previous year. 3801 has been withdrawn pending a full boiler overhaul, and will likely be out of steam for some time, which. While the withdrawal of 3801 is very sad, fans of steam in NSW have not been left want

Hunter Valley OffsiteI get sent to cool places like the Sebel Kirkton Park Hotel in the Hunter Valley for an offsite. The hotel was stunning, set in beautiful rollings hills. The property had a few dams and I saw some kangaroos hopping in the distance. This is the room I shared with Katia. Another thing about offsites - they're kind of like having a sleepover in high school again. I always get great roommates so it's a lot of fun. Bird of paradise flowers. Where are our rooms? Pretty balcony vie
What NOT To Do When You Are Selling Your House in the Columbia SC Real Estate Market Everyone has seen the hit fashion show ?What Not to Wear? on TLC. If you havn?t, check it out. It is a great show. The premise of the show is that they find someone who dresses horribly. Whether in their job they do not dress professional, in their daily life they dress for a different age group than they are a member of, or just in general, they do not dress to flatter themselves. The 2 hosts help them out, show them how to dress in clothes they feel comfortable in, and help them lead a
Constable Estate Vineyards Wine QuizWant to learn more about wine? Try these questions ?.. Q: What happens to a Riesling when it ages in the bottle? A: The wine gradually develops a ?toasted? flavour that is often referred to as ?kerosene?. Don?t worry, the flavour is complex and satisfying, well worth a try. Q: Should all Rieslings be aged? A: Not always. Check the tasting notes on the label, and be guided by the winemaker, as some Riesling is made to be enjoyed while it is young and fresh. Nothing wrong, of course,
DAVID CONSTABLE?S ORGANIC FRUIT AND VEGETABLE GARDENIn September 2006, I decided to build a walled, semi-commercial organic vegetable garden. Measuring 28 x 14 metres, it was in two parts. The first part was designated for soft fruit such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and gooseberries. The second, larger area was shaped like the spokes of a wheel with the centrepiece being a sundial dating from about 1780 and bought in the UK. As this sundial was made for the northern hemisphere, it does not work in the south. However, it adds a lo

The GardensCONSTABLE ESTATE VINEYARDS GARDENS HUNTER VALLEY, NSW Constable Estate Vineyards NSW was established in 1981. Out of a total of approximately 15 hectares, 7 have been planted with Shiraz, Semillon, Chardonnay and Verdelho. A house was built in 1985 and at that time native shrubs were planted to give privacy and act as a windbreak. In 1984 a project was commenced to establish a large scale Hunter Valley country garden comprising various well-spaced gardens and a sculpture garden.
Glenguin ?Protos? Chardonnay 2007Protos is Greek for ?first? but it also puts me in mind of a compact sedan, possibly from a compact Asian country, but that may be because I?m a bit of an idiot. There?s 200 dozen made from hand picked fruit off the 3.5 acre block behind the big dam at Glenguin Estate. It?s the first time I?ve seen this wine and I enjoyed my little test drive. A reminder that the Hunter can, and does, make some pretty smart Chardonnay. It?s full bodied and powerful offering flavours of nectarine, citrus, spic
Margan White Label Semillon 2006There?s apparently only around 50 dozen of these made, and mailing list members get first dibs. It?s limey and already a little bit nutty with a little free sulphur showing. On the palate quite rich (in context) with plenty of rich sweet lime and mineral flavour, balanced acidity and excellent length of flavour. It?s often hard to say too much about a young Hunter Semillon other than whether you think it?s good or not. Well this is good and it?s already offering a fair degree of drinking plea

Ning - for Lake Macquarie Paddlersproject is a bit of a test, really. Since I?m a marketer and working mostly with new marketing systems like blogging, social networking and community dialogue, I?ve decided to set up a Ning network specifically for Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie paddlers. For a start, there?s a need to organise whatever paddlers from the [...]
